That's been my nickname for well over a decade now. Served me well so far. For one thing folks whose native tongue is English can pronounce it properly (as opposed to my real name, Sören). That's why even my teachers called me BuschnicK when I went to school in Canada. It's a good online nick, since so far I haven't found anyone using the same. It also doesn't contain any of those nasty German Umlauts, so I can use it as my screen name everywhere without f*cking up the system. BuschnicK originates from one of my buddies from school, he thought it was quite a fitting description of my hairstyle at the time - which was kinda wild and messy really (and still is). Besides, the name just sounds cool and offers lots of fun opportunity for variation ;) The capital letter K at the end was inspired by my MetallicA phase, they have that nice spiky logo...
My real name is Sören Meyer-Eppler, although I was born Reineke (my mom married again). I was born 1979-03-16 in Dortmund, moved to Münster and then to Havixbeck and that's where I still live. My mom has the Canadian citizenship (her parents are German immigrants) so I enjoy the benefit of dual citizenship as well. Which is cool, cause I love Canada and travel there as often as time and money permit. I have two younger brothers and an even younger sister. I made my Abitur in Münster, did my civil services year in a pedagogic institution for children and am now a perpetual student of maths/computer science while working as a professional software developer at the same time.
I'm quite diverse in my hobbies and am always open for new input. I enjoy the trampoline, rock-climbing, longbows, RC-cars, books, role-playing, going to the movies, traveling, board games, music, concerts, hiking, biking and whatever new comes my way. I've recently discovered that saunas and roller coasters are a lot of fun too ;-) I'm also kinda addicted to heights, so I love the mountains and love falling. Yup, falling. Trampoline, cliff-jumping, climbing, sky-diving. Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity yet to do some serious parachute sky-diving or bungee-jumping (update: I did it! check out my ramblings), but that's sure to come...
Other than that I'm obviously also programming as a hobby and am a big data leech. I've digitized the family's music collection which amounts to about 100GB of mp3s or 1.570 hours of non-stop noise. I also don't watch any television, so I go to the movies at least once a week or watch films on my computer.
